Just like to share an un-trustworthy seller in CS - Dirtbiker (Irfan Zain)
I made a firm offer for his D2h on 28/12/05, which was accepted. However he has been playing hide and seek with me till now. Just a brief account of the events:
28/12/2005 - Made an offer via PM, which he accepted. Claims he wish to close the deal by 29/12 midnight.
29/12 - Called him to arrange for viewing on 30/12.
29/12 - He called to say he could not make it on 30/12 as he needed to go KL. Suggested to meet on 31/12 instead, which I agreed.
30/12 - I called him in the evening, with the intention to arrange for a meet-up. He said he would be away from 31/12 - 2/1. Will call me to make arrangements after he's back.
2/1/2006 - Night time. Saw Dirtbiker online, and called him. He said he was busy, and will call me on 3/1 morning to arrange. I noticed that his thread in BS has been closed.
3/1 - Dirtbiker did not call me. I call him 4x in the afternoon till night, and my calls were rejected. Left a voicemail to ask him to return call, but he didn't.
3/1 - Night time. Used my wife's HP to call. He picked up but kept quiet. Hang up the phone when I said "hello". His phone was diverted to voicemail after that.
I can understand if a seller is busy (having assignments, etc), and not able to respond to calls. But he should, as minimum courtesy, drop a SMS to let me know the status. If he's not able to meet up in the coming days, at least he should be responsible enough to let me know, instead of making me chasing behind his back. I can accept if a seller is busy, but it is definately unacceptable if he leave the buyer stranded after agreeing on a deal.
To sum up, I'm terribly disappointed with the experience with Dirtbiker. I am cool if a seller backs out of a deal shoud he changes his mind, or due to other reasons. But it is definately very irresponsible NOT to keep the buyer informed.
I won't be surprised if Dirtbiker has sold his cam to another buyer who made a higher offer, which is probably not my business anymore. But the least he could do is to let me know, instead of taking me round this hide and seek.
Just venting my frustration, and sharing with fellow CSers, as this incident spoilt my day totally. Thanks for reading.
