Some time this year, there will be a local workshop on printing black and white images on inkjets. Look out for it.
Graig did a great workshop (two I believe ? which were advertised in offstone.. really good stuff..) a couple (could be more!) of years back.

I just did a search in forum and that's the name I found; Craig and Derrick but I think out there are others doing it. As myself, I have lately begin to experiment digital B&W with inkjet. Also with some help from a (chemistry) friend in U.S.A. on mixing inksets to get the correct mix (hopefully).

Tim - ink jet printing of black ans white is a well worked area the problems are that there are some solutions to some issues that require exotic ink or software and in the earlier days there was less inclination for parties to supply solutions.

Today its a total different situtation. The equipment from manufactures have reached the point where it is almost useable out the box - some tweking is needed but its a far cry for printing a print that looks black and white when you looked at in your room and in the morning in sun light looks greenish.

I am working my way through this one right now using an EPSON Perfection 3200 and a EPSON Stylus 2100. I am experimenting with Illford Galerie paper.

If you have any specific information (book, sample prints demonstrating what to do or what not to do - either one is good, websites with information on what can be done, what the limits are etc.) that you can point me to (in order to get the best out of it), it would be appreciated.

Hi ellery, I believe you have seen both Craig & Derrick digital B&W print-out, do they have that "in the morning in sun light looks greenish" looks? I saw Ruby's digital b&w printed on ilford smooth pearl with 2100 have "bronzing" but on Matte paper was good as demo' by Ken at the last COL meeting.

I am not using any "exotic ink or software" only the Epson Ultrachrome Black and Light Black. I have a 2100, going to buy a C65 and also have a 1160 but will NOT going to use the 1160 cos' it's a dye ink printer, it will clog if using pigment inksets compare to 2100 and C65 which are UltraChrome pigment printers.

Hopefully it will work out nicely
