dunno where to post this, pardon me if this has been asked here before.
But i'm new to film, can anyone tell me where can i get B&W film and normally how much will it cost. Thanks

cathay photo, ruby photo, and quite a number of other places. cant remember the prices ;p

konota also have.

should be about $5 to $6+ a roll. watch out, developing, scanning and printing also cost more than colour negatives

my recent purchased from Ruby, 35mm Ilford XP2 Super per roll $6 and
Kodak Tri-X 100 feet bulk roll $54.60.:)

I get all my b&w films from Ruby Photo. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Hi,

Anyone knows of a good shop in the west to develop and scan Tmax films? I stopped film for about 3yrs so don't know what is the best price for developing Tmax + scanning.

Thanks.

i think miao laan (bukit batok) and grace digital (sunset way, clementi) do developing and scanning for b&w films. not sure about the prices though.

Just called Miao Laan. They quote me $11 for C41 develop + 16bit scan :thumbsd:

Why the thumbs down sign? It's the normal rates.

My suggestion is to get a scanner, that way you can just d/o at the lab and scan yourself. C41 d/o at my local lab is $4 per roll and $6 a roll for B&W film at ruby.

actually it can be considered cheap, considering fotohub rates are near $20

just wonder if Ruby do 16-bit scan for the whole roll too. and what is the price?

they only do c41 right, i dont think many places still do b&w.

Fotohub (bukit timah) develop tmax at $5 (4days wait). Then can take it to grace lab for 16 bit scan at $5. Total cost = $10 and time needed ~1 wk.

Impt thing is where to get the cheapest tmax? Fotohub selling it at $5.70 per roll.

This is interesting and the 2nd time I've heard about the bulk roll. Can anyone advise how many "36 exposure" rolls can one get from a 100 feet roll? How does one roll it into the canister? Is the process difficult?

i think cp is selling t-max for 4.50 and ruby at 4.70 (or thereabouts).

Cheap compared to HP5+ which I use. $5.50 a pop! I'm thinking of using something less damaging to my pocket.
