Yes you are right!

I was impressed totally when i was there! the security guard approaching me and asking why u stare at the building so sometime. I answered,"you are lucky to work here, I love this building." She then reminded me, not allow to take picture inside this building. So I only manage to take this pizza.

Studying carefully the span of the building, it is crazy man!!

the structural concept is not the first of it's kind, in fact we have a building with similar structual concept in Singapore, just look at OCBC building by I.M. Pei

there's a joke within the profession about why the building looks so industrial, it was designed to be taken down into parts and transported to U.K. when HK was to be returned to China at 1997.

oh yes, I passed by OCBC recently, yes two concrete pylons work as a structural core, to achieve a giant span across. Structural concept is similar, technology and material express have bring HKSC bank new phrase. I think I should go down to take this building too.....

This HKSC which designed to be assembled and disassembled, like LOGO. Yes probably or after century later, it may transfer this piece of architectural to somewhere else. It will be interesting. Hope his ideas work~.:)

more details at HK Airport:)
please notice all a/c outlet is intergrated with this column. It is hardly we can see air duct in this airport. all intergrated to the 'little animal' around, such as above ATM Machine. Similar to Expo MRT in Singapore.:)

^ yeah the roof is rather similar to Singapore Expo MRT.....;)

yes u r right, both detailing is almost the same, only the material applied is different. The pattern of the roof creates an illusion to disappear the steel truss supporting the roof. Study carefully, then u will notice where is the 'invisible' truss.

i like this... like the catwalk platform

Norman Foster has earned his lordship awhile ago, he is better known as Lord Norman Foster these days. The treatment to the skin of St Mary Axe bldg in london similarly takes on the same language with a hexagonal tiling instead. Foster seems to have taken on a monolithic approach departing from the previous high tech efforts, seems so much cleaner and sleek.
