Hi hi,

I am currently in the eastern most border of
China, in the city of dandong. Arrived yesterday
In beijing, my first trip to china since 2002.

Tomorrow, I am applying for my visa to
the democratic people"s republic of korea.
This is part of tour group and I really hope
to get some nice pictures.

In terms of gear, I brought only my m9p with
A 50 cron an exra battery pack. This will be a
Good Discipline to shoot with one focal length.
Also, I have never really used the m9p in any
Serious occassion. Well, better now than never.

Unfortunately, I didn't bring a laptop, so I am rediscovering
An unconnected world. If the visa application is successful,
I cross trhe yalu river on 1st june, and will take a
5 hour train ride to pyongyang. Will be back
Next week.

Looking forward to ur N.Korea pics seriously!! How many days will u spend in Pyongyang in total?

Have a safe and fun trip! But the thought of not having any form of communication device (not even domestic ones) in an isolated country sure makes one feel uneasy..

Don't take the wrong pictures that the propaganda police do not want you to take.

power !!! think u need 200mm becos i heard not easy to shoot

Entering the last hardcore communist world...looking forward to the shots...

Looking forward to see the photos!

Have a safe trip my friend. My thoughts are with you.

Don't forget to charge your batteries daily!

In tour group and using 50mm, will need to be 5 steps ahead of tour guide to consume that precious 5 seconds of unblocked space, before the rest of the members of the tour group descend upon you haha

Hi hi,
Unfortunately, I didn't bring a laptop, so I am rediscovering
An unconnected world.

It's OK, they'll probably confiscate any comm device anyway. Enjoy.

Safe trip and look forward to your pics

DPRK is definitely a weird place. Going with a Chinese tour group will probably be a different experience from going with a Western tour group. I went with a Singapore tour group some years ago. Our guides were definitely much more relaxed than the typical Western journalist reports. There is definitely a larger underground economy than most people would expect.
