take it slow and easy one step at a time, photography is a relaxing hobby...

Wow... its nice to see so much persuasions to TS to keep his Kit Lens, while seeing his multiple replies to insist on selling and buying the 50 F1.4

Same stretch of persuasions happens in another thread also started by the same TS

For me, as per everyone else.... keep your Kit Lens and get the Minolta 50mm F1.7

You will save more than half the price and its also a cheaper prime to allow you to learn your new hobby, since you mentioned that you are new to photography.

The extra softness of 1.4 may not be handled well by amateurs .... :)

yeah. ive just gotten my sony 50mm f1.4 at a very tempt'atious price. with warranty till next feb. =D yeah, im kind of "" with this new lens. but i will learn from it. =) maybe anyone could give me some tips on this lens perhaps? :)

dont shoot at f/1.4 in bright sunlight :bsmilie:, causes some color fringing
step it down to like 2.0 at least

and find what f stop is sharpest for your copy of the lens~

Not really, depend on what your need for that picture. Sharpness, CA, doesn't mean everything. The feeling from the picture are more important for me.:)
