Anyone notice the focus problem of Tokina 11-16mm on D80?

Made an exchange (1 to 1), after some testing the focus seems to be accurate even under low lighting condition.

Will try it again this weekend :)

Hexlord, please show us some photos taken with the sharp copy that you are having now if you will.

I'll show you some samples via PM if you want, since I wish to maintain the privacy of the subject in the photos.

Maybe you can show me some samples of your shots in 100% too since it's hard to tell over the smaller sized photos. Cheers! :)

does anyone knows whether this lens has that focussing problem with D90?

D90 is a very advanced camera. I have seen others taking great pictures with Tokina 11-16mm using D80. As D90 is even more advanced, should have no problem. Tokina 11-16mm is a powerful photographic tool. I am still learning how to maximise its capabilities. Check this site out:

I have a D90 and was experiencing back focus problems (would focus too far all the time, would not even focus to infinity right). I changed the setting Center Focus Point from Normal Zone to Wide Zone, I have done multiple tests and most of the time the Normal Zone will focus too far while the Wide Zone focuses perfect almost every time.

Here are some 100% crops:

f2.8, ISO 800, 1/15th - focus point is on the penny - raw, no color adjustment, sharpening, etc

Normal Zone

f2.8 ISO 200 1/2000th - focus point is on the big tree in the distance - raw, no color adjustment, sharpening, etc

Wide Zone

I really don't know why it would make such a big difference...
