Anyone manage to " Black Paint " your Rangefinders?

Was wonder if anyone DONE it to your beloved chrome rangefinders ?

What camera did you send for re-painting? LEICA, NIKON, CANON rangefinders?
Where and who did you send to ?
What's the overall cost needed + shipping ?
How long does it takes ? 3/6 months ?
Is the black paint suppose to be Glossy or Matt ?

Any HERO here done a DIY job? If yes i salute you !

Shintaro from japan does them, i know got a UK source also (CRR Luton, iirc).

I read quite a bit on this and would like to eventually turn my M2 into a BP M2, but the high cost and long waiting times turn me off.

PS: cost roughly US$350? not very sure. Also depends on what you want, full painting, including shutterspeed dial and all the small stuff, US$450. Reverse-panda = US$350.
