Yeah. A typical 400mm has an aperture of f/2.8 or f/4, a 500mm, f/4 as well. So f/6.3 at 500mm is kinda slow. But then, those were primes.... But then, it's still kinda slow when you compare it to the Canon 100-400, which I believe is f/5.6 at 400. Regards CK
