If you shoot for whole day, you definitely need to bring 1-2 spare batteries. Similar for the A7R, which measure 270 shots CIPA.
AF is definitely not the DSLR type. It does not have phase tracking, so this is not as good for sports, but it is super accurate when in focus, every shots are sharp. I get more keepers than my A7R with 55FE.
No regrets selling my A7R and went back to RX-1R. Even though I bought it the second time for more than $3.8k.
Sold my A7R before any paint drops started, but after 1-2 months of use and cleaning, very light signs of swirls marks appeared on the A7R paint surface. The built quality of A7R is one level below the RX1-R, and IQ to me, RX1-R is better.
If you like IQ of RX1, you will like RX-R. Sharper, more details.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the all your valuable input.
I'm used to have the RX1 and the feel is really good. That time i bought 2nd hand from CS @ 3k. Now a brand new RX1r is less than that (really tempting).
Having said that, I find its battery life sucks and AF also not up to standard but i think it has more positive sides than negative ones.
Guess I will go for RX1r![]()
