It's been several months and there is no news yet. Anyone knows when the lens will be arriving here?

Tried searching for a 1-1 comparison test with the Tamron 150-600mm but can't find it. Wonder how the Sigma will perform against the Tamron.

I'm thinking of using it on a cropped body to get 960mm! Anyone can kindly share sample images at 900+mm to poison me? :D

But my main objective is to shoot sunrise and sunset. Presently, my 200-300mm lens is not tele enough to get a big picture of the sun.

Not sure if this lens will be an overkill for me. I can't think of any other use for it other than that. Don't doing birding also.

I thought it is already available?

The Taiwanese already have it since a couple months back.

Be careful when you shoot into the sun...

We usually get it to shoot birds.

I have a friend in S'pore who has been shooting with the Nikon mount Sports version for a few weeks. I guess Canon version should also be out since usually Canon mount is released first.

Lenstip.com reviewed both lenses:

Remember not to use liveview with supertelephoto lenses to shoot the sun it may burn your sensor ;)

Oh thanks guys. I asked the shop a few weeks ago and maybe stocks were not in yet.

But somehow, hardly anyone mentioned about these 2 new lenses here.

Will see if it is worth it for me to get either the Tamron or Sigma lens. Cos if I only use it to shoot the sun, it is wasteful spending. We don't usually get very nice round sun here also.

Added: Checked... Sigma Lens not here yet.
