Due to my schedule in the upcomming months, I've decided to dive in singapore. Anybody know any centers or anyone organizing upcomming trips for local dives? would like to try tho, heard the visiblilty is quite unconsistant. Any Islands around singapore that you all recommend? I googled and got good reviews on pulau salau.. anyone has any experience to share? hows the marine life, etc. hope the sites are not damaged by the oil spill, was told by my friend that lots of dive sites were closed in malaysia due to bleaching of the corals because of the oil spill..

Is Pulau Salau near the Raffles lighthouse? If that the one, current there can be quite strong. Dive there before a few times.

The ONLY place that I know of, that Dive Centres in S'pore will bring you.... is Pulau Hantu. I could be wrong here... but S'pore isn't really know as a place to dive.

As for Tioman.... many of their Dive Sites are closed due to Corals dying.

Yes, and just had a late evening and sunset dive on Tue at Hantu.

IIRC http://www.pulauhantu.org/dive-with-us/ conducts dives locally, funds gathered from these dives goes into funding the group. I'm not from this group, but I guess this is a good start for you to dive locally.

Have fun diving locally, have a good dive light and control your finning and try not to slit up too much..

I dive almost every month in singapore :)

there are a few island which we still can dive but due to current issue, they are only accessible on certain dates. Hantu is divable almost everyday as it has more sheltered bay.

sadly we do not have pristine water condition like sipadan. but we do have quite spectacular amount of reef life here. problem is can you find it or not :P

hantu i dive with the hantu bloggers, the others i charter the boat hahaha

I used to dive with my buddy at Marina south, just rent a tank and rig up n go. Walk up to the breakwater, throw ur equipment into the water n slide down the breakwater. The visility is about 0.5m-1m(the most), had to hold hand and dive. haha.. go Hantu i think it better becoz of the marine lifes there.
