Any recommendation for Video Convertor?

Hi people,

I just started playing with video, and I got a FS10 from the comex show.
After shooting, I found that the file *.MOD is not compatible with Movie Maker (WinXP) for editing.

I wonder if there is any affortable video convertor in store at the same time it will not reduce the quality after conversion??
