You should invest in a Sony alpha a230 for only $699 with kit lens.

Great start for beginers

Hi, I am thinking of getting one small camera too..i am looking at Panasonic LX3. But it's quite ex still. So still pacing around in my brain:sweat:

Actually, to be frank with you. If you are gonna buy a PnS camera in this century , you are !@#!@$!@#. No offence,Neither am i forcing to buy DSLR.

PnS in the market now is $399 to $500?
DSLR in the market now is $699 to $XXXXX.

The differences isnt that far away..A few hundred bucks only.

As for grip , different people have different feel and opinion. You can make your way down to sony style to take a look , actually this is the lightest , cheapest DSLR. Nothing is cheaper than this.

As for function , after you buy a dslr , u can join the gathering and outings planned by fellow CS members. I am sure all of them are more than willing to teach you how to use. And once u get the hang of it , u just love it. Trust me.

Hope you get a dslr soon and join sony family..

So if I buy a GF1/LX3/S90/G11/F200EXR, I'm being a "!@#!@$!@#"?

Not everyone wants to bring a DSLR around.

Bro... i think calling people "!@#!@$!@#" might just warrant you an infraction...

My opinion that using a D-SLR without upgrading lenses for specific purposes and treating it as a point-and-shoot will do TS no good.

OMG OMG chills guys i just wanted some opinons. chillls.:cheers:
well i get what you guys meant is dslr price nowadays is closer to compact so its value for $ but on the other hand some people dosent like to bring a heavy camera arnd so they prefer compact.

guys i onli wanted to intro me some good cameras.:cheers:

Fujifilm-colour
Olympus-Tough
Casio-Loads of functions(Make-up mode and all that)&Speed

Nikon doesn't really have many outstanding P&S cameras IMO. I highly recommend the Fuji EXR200 or the Canon Powershot S90.
