Another SG movie coming up 2007 island wide.

Set in the late 80's. A painful love story, based on a true story about life in Singapore.

There are just so many things I just feel like screaming out but I cannot be bothered to type so much. Don't get me wrong - It's a pretty good effor and I imagine it must have been a bitch to film stuff at night from a moving car... Its just that I felt it did not convey what your synopsis entailed. If you don't mind, I have the following greviances:

1) This does not look like its set in the 80s. They DO NOT HAVE THOSE KINDS OF CARS THEN... Especially not in friggin Singapore.
2) Love story? I didn't see any love in that trailer; except perhaps your love of filming random cars at night and that chick's butt..
3) Eh I also don't get why it's a true story - Or what the story is about for that matter... Maybe it would be better if you gave a summary of the story in your trailer.
4) Music - Why must you use Requiem of a Dream of all things? A bit overused leh... How about making your own soundtrack?

The one thing I did like, however, was the decent sunset shot of the bridge in your last take.

Sorry about the rant. But those are my honest comments. Don't take it personally. Don't worry, you have alot of potential - Keep doing what you're doing and post up the full video when you're done alrighty? (:

Lets see, guide me along please...
This is a story about some yandao guy.. a bunch of girls and alot of cars?
Maybe somesort of 'need for speed' concept?

Heres a tip in making a trailer... edit your footages with the music tempo - esp. when you use songs like Requiem of a Dream.

Try not to take footages from other people... like New Line Cinema, because it instantly makes you a ripper.. and ripper = not very good.

And if you do not have narration please throw in words to explain and tease the audience about the film. Go watch 3 trailers everyday for a week, you'll get my idea

But 2 thumbs up on the car shots, its really rare to see car shots around.. =)

Cheers
David

Jack the ripper was horrifying.

Anyway as the above stated, i could not glean any instance of plot from the trailer. The highlight would be the carshots, and they were certainly pretty impressive initially, but they got a bit old after awhile. You've gotta convey some form of plot in your trailer - at least tell us what its about. Another thing of course are the massive anachronisms. Definitely doesn't look like 80s stuff. Also i'd recommend against the sudden color shifts in the trailer - tends to give an amatuerish undertone to the trailer. This trailer has the potential to be pretty impressive, but you need to get rid of quite a few car shots, and convey more of the story through the trailer.

i would commend the trailer for the effort. it's not easy to shoot car scenes in another moving vehicle. but did you guys get LTA's permission to shoot on the roads? it'll cheer me up to know that permission was granted (because i was told that it was required and i had to acquire it by writing in, bloody red tapes, tsk).

i would agree with the ripping. new line cinema doesnt need unauthorised usage of logos and blatant misrepresentation.

whether it is in the 80s or not depends on how you tell or portray the story on screen. it'll be more believable if cars like those shown werent used but i'll buy the story if the culture and dialogue used (read: details of the script) pertains to the 80s.

overall, i cant help but feel that this trailer was inspired by films like "initial d" and "fast and furious" done by a group of youths whose parents allow them to go for spins at night. sorry about that. =(
