Another reasonable photographic equipment shop in JB

Today I accompany my friend to a photographic equipment shop JB. He bought a Nikon AF 50mm f1.4D lenses and a Think Tank backpack. The price of both items are much cheaper than that in S'pore. The sales person is kind to tell us that Nikon products may be cheaper than that in S'pore but cannot be said for Canon. He also mentioned that CF and SD cards are cheaper in S'pore. They carry a wide range of camera bags too.

The shop is Foto CLS at Level 2 Lot 02 & 03, KSL City, 33 Jalan Selandang, Taman Abad. This complex is near Hotel New York.

Foto CLS has got a facebook website also if I am not wrong. Anyway, the one at KSL city is new. Most of the time, they do not have better pricing as compared to Johan and Mee Too. The location of the new shop seems safer than the rest though..

Actually, canon is way cheaper in MY compared to nikon. Camera bags are pretty much the same but sometimes it is cheaper in sg.

IMHO I find the distributorship of Billingham is not done properly in Singapore.

billingham r expensive to me....lol

i use lowepro etc which r more expensive in m'sia

buying a cam bag is a big deal over there due to the high cost, unlike here...lol

My friend paid less than S$500 for the Nikon 50mm f1.4D lenses. I don't know how much Johan or Mee Too charges, but it is certainly cheaper than the prices CSers posted in the Consumers Corner.

My friend bought a Think Tank large backpack for the price comparable to medium backpack(same series) in S'pore (listed here in CS). Isn't it a reasonable price?

I would avoid getting the D4, D800 or D800E for the time being. There seems to be unresolved issues on the left AF point. If need to fix, have to go to KL to get them done. For now, either wait till these issues are resolved, or buy locally, so it is easy to bring it into NSC.
