AG-HMC72 is recorded in which format? need to convert before editing in premiere?

Would like to know is there a need to convert to avi or other format before importing to Premiere? I'm currently using Premiere Pro 2.0. The camcorder is using SD card, will the video recorded smoothly as tape? Hope it's not recorded in vob format cos Premiere Pro 2.0 & CS3 doesn't support this format.

You can import and edit avchd in premiere pro cs3 if you will install the new maiconcept plug-in for Adobe. I mostly used studio 11 & 12 without much difficulty but am surprised by the usually negative feedbacks using premier pro. Hope someone can shed more light. Cheers!

thanks for reply. may i ask, how to get maiconcept plugin? is it in the default adobe? pinnacle studio can import straight away w/o any plugin?
