thanks, but the 24 and 35 are 2 different lenses. I have the 35mm pre-asph, best but not wide enuff on some occassion.Biogon + finder (some say its the best finder 600 plus) is good but difficult to source.
If you using M9 you may have problem with wide angles.
Personally I rather wait and get a leica lens and if I had better knowledge I would have jump straight with the Leica ASPH 35 1.4. Just one lens.
yo bro, i'm in the market for a 24/25mm, what's ur opinion of the VC and Biogon? I know leica glass is great but its price is not I wish to pay, I haven't ruled out Leitz but I just have a little time before my next trip.... cheers!
...........
BUT
there is something special about the Elmarit 24 asph. The images are more natural and not so clinical to me. I personally find the picture taken with the Elmarit easiest to digest.
cheers
This might be a good guage

FYI their leica price not very good so watch out.
bro, will try to play with it if they have one, but I don't intend to get one I guess I can do w/o it. I had the vc and leica one before and the VC wins hands down...Bro got chance can compare the zeiss 25/28mm External VF with VC and Leica's? 25/24mm my next lens also
noted with tx, but their Bigon ZM price is second to none! That's what I will be getting from them. Cheers!
Hi Bro, met you at chiff's place sometime ago. I have a M9, and am looking at some wide angle zeiss lenses. You might want to check out this link first:

tx bro Neuron! ur thread has affected my decision and it's a timely one cheers! though I'm a gaffer tape guyI dun think I like to tape my lens that way! hahaha, guess either I do the 8s test on the spot or get teh elmarit! darn, i was excited 2 days into this purchase and now this, but thankfully from ur thread, I got an informed decision...
gd discussion topic there bro. I used to own the CV 21 and 24 elmarit during the film days and never had such issues with color. While now I shoot with leica lenses, I'm not particuarly pleased with its white balance handling, esp indoor shots shot I ultimately convert them to b&w, i hate the idea of adjusting the WB even though i've manually set the lens to the correct type, do you guys have such experience? No problem, bro! I am looking for a replacement for my leica 18mm super elmar, too much distortion. Zeiss lenses are good and have lower distortion but bcos they are not coded for Leica M9, they suffer from colour shift. Zeiss 21mm f4.5 biogon has almost no distortion but suffers from colur shift with the M9. The best way to use Zeiss lenses on M9 is to shoot B&W!Looks like we have to stick to Leica lenses after all if we want to shoot colour!
Maybe other bros can comment on their real experience using Zeiss lenses on Leica M8/M9.
I hope I am wrong!

to me, 21 is a tad wider but a great street shooter with a superb ext vf! I put the lens focus on infinity and just shot away, whereas the 24mm probably made me wanted to do refine focussing subconsciously. I'm happy with both widness, i hate the cv f/4 speed and the elmarit's size (with hood), but I'm practically fine with a 21/24/25 focal length for my need thus my intention to try out the zm which received great review though I was a little uncomfortable with the 'clinical perfection', alls well until I read the 'screw' thread haha, i guess the tape solution is not an issue, but a big psychological one for me unless the zm cost the same as the cv, else I prefer to go back to the elmarit for now or i get a fine copy without the 'screw up' leakage haahhaWB is always a problem with the M9. Hopefully the next firmware will correct AWB issue. How do you compare a 24 with a 21? I have given up on the 18mm after my last experience.

according to neuron's post, there was no mention of such problem with this lens. Still I'd do that 8s test on the spot before I part my money.. heck I might as well do the same test to all my future lens purchases, what's what digital instant feedback can offer right?wow.. seems like a problem. I was eyeing the 21mm f4.5... Should I get it?
