Hi guys, I need some advise;

I'm recording a friend's performance (stand up comedy) in a cafe and in order to minimize noise, I wish to use the audio channels from the sound mixer directly into the camera.

Can anyone advise me on this? It'll be better if it was a wireless system, that way no one trips on anything.

Where can I rent such a thing? (the wireless device from mixer to cam)

What type of camcorder are you using? That will define what type of connectivity it needs as a input. Get the sound guy to give u a feed from a group output of a mixer, as it would have been mixed. If not use the Aux out. You may want to have your own sub mixer to have your own mic to record the ambient sound?

A wireless system would be easier to setup in terms of cabling if it is quite a decent length away. You can rent the sennheiser 100 series bodypacks from cinegear. Their site is www.cinegear.biz. Note that for a wireless system, you would have to check that if the frequency being used is free. the 100 series has a auto frequency tuning function though i don't usually use it.
