Hi Everyone, recently I had sudden interest for videography. And I have done my homework and got myself a Sony A6500 body only. I'm looking to buy a Lens now and totally confused on which type of lens should I be getting for a start. My main purpose of videography is to shoot my family and kids. There are some lens I came across the youtube channels, for eg. Sigma 16mm f1.4 , Sony 35mm f1.8 and Sony 18-105mm f4.. I would love to get some advice and feedback from someone. It would be greatful! Appreciate you time take to help me out here..Thanks

Congrats on your purchase of the A6500. It is wonderful camera for video with its very usable autofocus, IBIS and good low light capability. Do take full advantage of its feature set by investing into native Sony APS-C lenses. For day-to-day slice of life snapshots, you can't go wrong with the 18-106 f4 and the 10-18mm f4. The only downside of owning these 2 lenses would be the likelihood that you may never find any reasons to buy more lenses.

That was helpful man.. Appreciate it!

I would go w the 30mm F1.4 Sigma. you get the OOF background you want.
