Hi,
I'm looking for a 'student priced' panorama head for my Canon EOS 350 D and found this Panosaurus Panoramic Tripod Head:

Anybody there that has experience with this one? Is it to cheap and shaky or is it a good start? (don't have the money for a Manfrotto  )

Thanks

Interesting head. The only problem is the max weight it can take (1.4kg?). That effectively rules out my typical setup.

the max. weight should be ok for my camera including lens, its about 1 kg.

Anybody else sees a reason why this shouldn't be worth the money?

Didn't really like the plastic construction and light loading spec...opted for the nodal ninja instead: http://www.nodalninja.com/

it has a higher load spec of 3kg, is all aluminum, and actually folds more compact than the panosaurus...although some on the net have said that the panosaurus is more rigid...and the thing about loading specs is that they are given under ideal conditions, ie. no wind, which would increase stability problems...so might be good to go with higher load spec especially if using slr cause the centre of gravity of an slr system might not be near the tripod mount screwthread...:)

that looks like a good alternative! Thanks for the tip  , especially the packing size and beeing all metal seem to be an advantage.

Now I only have to check what my bank account thinks about the double price ;)

the name sounds like some dinosaur thingy. But I think the max weight carrying is too light. ;p
