I'll be going to phuket in october and i'm looking for suggestions for camera for snorkeling and water sports.

been looking at the nikon AW-110 or olympus TG-2.

any users can kindly give some comments on the cameras ?

or is a camera with a underwater casing better?

thanks!

if you aren't intending to dive with the camera i think the 2 you've mentioned are pretty good.

if you dive as well i suggest the rx100 with an underwater housing.

Maybe the Nikon 1 AW1 will arrive just in time?? ;)

Nope I don't think I'll be diving.

Been looking up on some reviews and they all have mixed response. So I don't really know if they're as good as they seem .

Both work as they should... but not known to have great IQ underwater... but since you are not diving... anyone will be fine if you are not too picky about IQ...

I think for the underwater, olympus TG-2 could have an benefit with the wider aperture and lower megapixels. That allows a quicker shutter speed in a situation where a very steady hold is challenging.
