Adding Watermark

Hi, I did a search and didn't find any relevant topics on the forum.
So I would like to know what software do you usually use to apply a watermark on your work?

I was using Canon's Digital Photo Professional for PP and realized that it does not have any watermark feature on that program.
I also thinking of also getting another software for PP and would like to know what software are you using for this.

Thanks and Cheers! :D

Gimp? Photoshop? Lightroom? Should be just a normal image layer, right? Or is there anything special about the WM you're trying to do?

Just save your watermark as a separate file then import it into your pic, apply the necessary blending.

Probably just gonna add an image watermark so I guess an image layer will work.
So both lightroom and photoshop are able to do that with no problems?

I was thinking of getting one of them for PP, are there are program exclusives in photoshop or lightroom that the other doesn't have?

Lightroom & Photoshop are able to do that of course, even in batch processing too.

Such watermark features are not exclusives to photoshop or lightroom. I'm sure there are alot more applications able to do that as well.

Thanks for clarifying further!
I will do more research on the individual programs and see which cater to my needs more for PP.
Since both are able to apply watermark even in batch processing, I guess it all just boils down to what enhancement each program can do.

I create a layer in photoshop for my watermark, then add it as a layer to my pictures.

What search term did you use? I find many threads discussing your question.

Thanks for everyone response :D
I use watermark as my search terms and apparently didn't get satisfactory results hence I open this thread, apologies if this has been brought up many times before.

I use Canon's DPP for my PP now, and GIMP for the watermark. Shall invest in lightroom once I can afford it :)

if you use lightroom, you don't need anything else, except photoshop for retouching and more sophisticate post processing/editing work.

Thanks for the tip! I also went ahead and check both features lightroom and photoshop have and it seems that lightroom would be good enough for me. Photoshop is too pricey, and definitely not something I will invest in the near future. However, lightroom seems to be pretty value for money, so will be getting that soon :)
