a77 firmware: *POOF*

i see i see thanks still never seen it yet =) lolz (just kidding) i dont have this lens mah didnt' got it when i bought my A77

Relax, bro . . . who needs that 16-50 now that the a77 can brighten corners, straighten out curved brick walls, and make purple disappear from chrome with the CZA 16-80! And, hell, if 3.5 ain't fast enough, just dial up the ISO a couple of notches! ;)

yep agree bro with the latest ISO performance of A77 I wont be affraid to shoot beyond ISO1600, plus I still have my cheap and trusty 1750 good enough for me

I'm also using the 17-50 for my a77. It's quality can still match up with its 24mpx sensor. After upgrading the firmware to 1.04, I also noticed that sharpness at higher ISOs are a bit better.

I am not sure about any bros here but the SAL1650 has impressed me so much that it's the only thing that urged me to buy A77 and keeping it till now. If i were to sell anything, its the A77 body to go first.

This lens is by far the best lens i have ever used. Great optics with sharpness across the frame even at f2.8 and biting sharp at f4 and above. It even match or beats the prime lenses i have which goes to show its really made of good quality optics. I am not sure its whether A77's magic in software correction or not, but i like what i see.

I have owned and used Tamron 1750, 2875, Sigma1750, Canon 17-55, 24-105L. From what i see, this sony 1650 easily beats them hands down.

Couple with SSM, weather sealed and lowest priced among its class (except tamron),its really a no brainer lens to own.

As long as i have alpha crop body, i will continue to hold on to this lens. Period.
