A7 - Light Leak or Lens Flare?

Just wanted to share. Am using the voigtlander close focusing adapter. No light leak. The build quality is excellent.

Ngwmk, have you tried with the helicoid extended?

Hi Virtualme78, nope have not tried that one. If you are considering the Voigtlander adapter, dont hesitate. Just hoot. In my opinion, its worth it. And I believe you can easily sell it off.

chances are if you are shooting close ups with helicoid extended, it is not an excessively long exposure that will cause the lightleaks to occur

I got the latest version of hawk's already... Fit is perfect... Not sure if it is still light- tight then the helicoid is extended

Ya... I guess so... I might just try to see if it's light-tight...

Hello!
Yes, Novoflex E -> M mount, without LTM adapter.
So maybe it's the Novoflex! I'll test it out again this Sunday when I get a chance to play.
I think I've got a bit of gaffer tape with me here! I might do some experimenting.

Just to confirm. I've Just tested it. It is the adapter issue... at the the interface between the adapter and the lens. I gaffer taped around It and it's fine now. I expected novoflex to be better than this.........

exactly the same issue i had with mine

Unacceptable at that price. I didn't notice it with my Novoflex E-FD adapter.

All my cheap ebay (eg. Fotga, etc.) adapters leak light and dust through the lens release lever / button too. Light leak is easily visible after replacing lens cap with camera on.

Easy solution: stretch a thin strip of bicycle inner tube over the offending area (I use Road bike inner tube - very tight; mountain bike tube should be easier to install). Cut small slits in the rubber to allow lens release lever / button to protrude out (if not, the rubber band will depress the lever and lens will never lock). Problem solved.

Hope this tip helps.
