Hi all,

When the Dimage 7series were out, most of the 'complaints' are aimed at two things:

1) noise
2) battery drainer

I owned the 7hi, and most of the time i'd set to only evf-only mode, with histogram turned on, etc etc, my batt life isn't that good (although I am satisfied with the batt life, at times :)); neither is it that bad, although there's a lot of hooohaa over how much power it drains. Only prob is have to carry multiple sets of AA batteries -- but then, that's an advantage in itself (for me)

Wonder how the A1 (using its default battery) measure up against other cameras in its league (supposedly 5700, etc)? Yeap, that's the golden question!

PS: the "noise" issue is a mountain made from a molehill for me, so not gonna talk much abt it here. :bsmilie:

Well.. able to taken 330 shots + 3 x 256 mb transfer..
my experience :)

Hieee...

Based on my experience wiht both the 5700 and the A1....the A1 seem to have a longer battery life. This may be due to the fact that the zoom is manual and the 5700 zoom is motorised. Turning in On/Off alone takes some power from the battery.

Rgds,

and the 'popup' flash of the other cams?

how much is the 5700 now huh? i haven't got to touch the a1 yet ;((( looks nice to squeeze... :blah:

I have the Dimage 7i and yes it is a battery drainer. Solution I found was to buy a Digipower DPS 9000 Power Pack for $46.95. It is a rechargeable video cam type battery that screws into the tripod screw on the bottom of the camera and cables into the power supply. Has tremendous capacity and recharges relatively quickly. Con is that it bulks up the camera but it is well worth it. Can find it at:
