yesterday i went photo shooting without my m4-p, actually it was loaned to david bowie, aka Philmon so I proceeded to
travel light this time with only 2 bodies, one was the Nikon FM with Nikkor 50/f2 and the other was the
Bronica RF645 with the 65mm lens (around in 35mm in 35mm).
I had previously shot Alexia in the bright sun. I wanted to try edgy, dark shadow-type of shoot. Fadly was my assistant
for this shoot. He is a pro-wedding photographer by trade and I wanted his advice as he is a lighting pro. For the
shoot, we decided to use Baretto Bar in Bukit Paso as the location, it was dark, moody and had a cigar room.
For film, we used Tri-x 400 and Neopan 1600. With a LED continuous light, we found the lighting quite agreeable to ISO 400.
Most of our shots were around f4 and 1/30 or 1/60. The smaller 8x8 LED provided the same light as the larger LED but the
fall out of the light was exactly what I wanted.
The Nikkor 50/f2 is too sharp, even at f4. I used an old fashioned method of blurring my images: I flipped the negative over
and scanned the opposite side, this resulted in a ever-so-slightly not so sharp image.
I currently have 2 x 35 and 2 x 120 left to develop and scan.
You can view the 2 rolls developed and scanned here:
