Here's the start of my exploration into digital photography.

First shot taken.

I know it's kinda blur. Guess I should have used spot focusing instead...

You could try another angle to shift the distracting leaves away from the subject, which I presume to be the bird.
i also dont think that the photo is OOF.It looks more of soft to me.
CA seems a big problem..but thats not your fault.Maybe can try a littl PS skill to remove it.

This was the best angle I could find actually... already tried to shift... There were a lot of leaves blocking me.
Ya, might be too soft cos I forgot to change the aperture.
Erm... what's CA?

CA is chromatic aberration. Also known as purple fringing. Look at your first pic and you'll understand why. In human eyes, it's known as astigmatism... :bsmilie: Basicallly it's a condition where the eyeballs or lens glass elements are not perfect and the light falls unevenly onto the retina/sensor.

I see... guessed it had something to do with the purple fringing... thanks!
