Just came back from the photo shooting outing with the other CS members to take shots of the Singapore skyline. Perhaps its my poor skills in taking night shots, but I find that the images derived from my 828 is not satisfying. Can someone pls comment....hope its me and not the hardware. Cos if its me, I can still correct the mistakes and improve upon it.

Not satisfying in what area?

Looks like it could do with some post-processing though....

My dissatisfaction would be in the sharpness of the images taken at night. The buildings don't look sharp to me. Btw, I've already done a little basic post processing to my photos. What have you added?

Try to use a higher F-stop say F8? to improve the sharpness?
Also, I find that the subject in the photos are mainly the foreground (the sea), thus they dun have a good feel.

All the shot are taken with f8. I also tried increasing the contrast a little in the post processing in a bid to sharpen the images, but it did'nt happen.

Did you use Unsharp Mask (USM) in Photoshop?

Other stuff that I did include noise removal (using NeatImage), curves and colour adjustments.

I only did a little on brightness and contrast setting. Using another program. I've yet to learn how to use PS.

Hi

The photo is well done, although I too, face the same problem of night shot
which the image seem to be blur when zoom in.

I am still learning the all the fucntion of F828.
Just want to ask 2 question.

a) As i saw in the photo of the CBD buiding, can F828 take panaromic photo?

b) Do I have to purchase PhotoShop to to editing ?

1) Yes, all digital cameras can do that - you just need to stitch them together in an image editing software.

2) Ideally, yes - but you could do with alternatives like Jasc PaintShop Pro (much more affordable than PS), or even the free Gimp.

OK, thanks.

But any lobang where I can get it ?
I think Sony software dun come with it.

Photoshop, PaintShop Pro can be purchased from any software shop ( they're all over Funan, Sim Lim Square).

Gimp can be downloaded from www.gimp.org.
