7D shutter release problem

I've just sold my 7D, which was working when I sold it, and now it's not working. Argh!:sweat:

I wonder if anyone might have an insight into this. Here is an edited version of the new owner's problem with the camera:

"It seems that the anti shake scale is blinking, meaning it has a ccd setup error which it states if it continues to contact a minolta service centre. This is what it says in the trouble shooting section. And the shutter release button will not press down to take a photo. It is focusing ok but will not take a photo. It is reading the card.

I do know this type of camera as I have the dynax 7, equivalent in a film camera. This is why I bought this camera as it matches all my lenses. I am a wedding photographer. So I cant find any settings that should not be on. Can you please inform me if there is a setting to lock the shutter release button as I cannot find anything to make it work. And also let me know if you know anything about the anti shake, why it is blinking. I do have a minolta lens attached."

One option to try is to do a "FACTORY RESET" on the camera. On the KM5D it's one of the option under the CAMERA SETUP menu. I believe 7D should be similar. If the new owner has other KM lens, request him to try with other lens as well after the FACTORY RESET.

Anti-shake mechanism blinking? That's bad. Means that something went wrong with that system. A full software reset would be good. Failing which it's service time. Sorry to hear about that

Yes, the buyer is sending it back to the KM service centre to have the AS repaired (the shutter won't release because the AS is not working). I'm paying for it. >AUD300. Ouch!
