hey guys..

would like to find out which is better for someone starting out on IR photography?

thinking of getting brandless ones since the branded ones have gotten too expensive for trying out :)

Thanks in advanced and i hope to post something soon! :)

If you want a point of reference from the photos you see in this sub forum .. than may I suggest the 720 .. as this is a more common filter amount shooters here.

By point of reference I meant .. you can see what the R72 can do and you can try to achieve that same finished for a start.. once you understand more about what this IR thingy is about, you can than start to explore further

Frankly, for IR it a very personal .. most of us started with R72 and ELP .. already a few of us is planning migration already..

720nm for starting out.
760nm may not give satisfactory false colour results, but will get more dramatic b/w (ymmv ) . Longer exposure on non-mod bodies.

thanks guys, i've bought a 720nm but however the results not as satisfactory.. im sure i must have the settings wrong somewhere or somewhere, shall be posting up soon for some guidance if possible :)

Hi bro LowLights, pardon me for asking.. may i know what do you meant by "migration"?

Do you meant quiting IR or changing to a different IR spectrums?
