Hey all, what's a good 72mm circular polarizer to get?

Hoya, Marumi, B+W, Nikon...etc almost all are pretty good

I normally use B+W, but it is rather pricey, and 72mm is a strange size. Any experience with the others?

well, if you don mind getting from eBay, probably this is one of the best, or maybe the best.
about 1/2 the price of B+W but offer performance nearly as good if not the same or even better than B+W

Yah, read about it somewhere. May well consider. Am heading overseas in a couple of weeks, just wondering if I should get the polarizer, and whether I should get a 72mm, which will in all probability only ever go with the 18-200 VR. May be shooting a lot of sky and water - hence the possible need for the polarizer.

If you have a 77mm lens (e.g. 17-35mm, 28-70mm, 70-200mm VR etc....), then get a 77mm CPL and a 72mm-88mm step-up ring so that you can use the 77mm filter on a 72mm lens (e.g. the 18-200mm VR).

I would recommend the Nikon CPL II for it's thickness (Or lack of! It's REALLY thin!) to minimise the vignetting effect if used on a wide angle lens.
