im considering to get a M8 but i never use it before
i hope some pro here can explain some of my question before i decide

are we able to put the lens data manually into the body instead of code it ?
because i got few voigtlander and zeiss zm.
(or some shop provide coding service ?)

and the UV/IR filter , is a must ?
because i got my lenses all uv filter on now, if i change them to UV/IR filter, i need to take them off for different camera correct ?

coding is for some form of correction if you use leica lenses not just recognition especially for wide angel lenses. UV/IR is a must if you do not want to deal with purple shirts on a sunny day when it is supposed to be black.

Thanks for replies guys.
Which means i need to remove and put on the uv ir whenever im switching lenses between diff bodies...

and about the 6 bit code, any shop providing permanent coding service for 3rd party lenses in local?

After coded the benefit applied on raw files too?

Also with the M8, if you use really wide angle lenses, expect some magenta (I think it's magenta) coloration at the corners and this happens even if you are using UV/IR filter.

I did not notice this problem when using WATE with UVIR.
