Hi guys starting from end of next week I will be more free to offer this service to anyone who needs an economical alternative to the scanning services provided your neighbourhood film shops or even pro shops that use noritsu/frontier scanners.

I am using a dedicated film minolta scan multi.. offering you 2820 dpi 26bit/per color scans. I currently only do 35mm as I have not perfected my 120mm workflow.

Color and B&W slides and negatives are welcome. I will not edit color cast away from color negatives. I leave it up to your tastes in photoshop. Slides and black and white no color cast issue so no problem. Black and white negatives can be level adjusted by me upon request.

Because my scanner does not have ICE.. old mouldy negs will not be accepted because I cannot assure you clean scans.. unless you dont mind cleaning up the negs yourself physically or with photoshop.

Each roll going for 5 dollars.. I believe this is reasonable last I checked. I stay in the serangoon area so meetup at my place, or serangoon mrt is preferable. I can arrange central meeting place if convenient. Mailed negatives are also accepted, with 1 dollar mailback costs (regardless of no. of rolls)

Woo! Up for this guy!!!

hey bro! thanks haha we can have complementary services.. you develop i scan haha

Will be interested if you can do scanning for 120 format too.
I'm not good with the terms of dpi and stuffs, but what's the resoultion of the picture after scanning, let's say 300dpi for the picture?

yes i can do 120mm.. same price 5 bucks per roll.. ok heres how it goes.. i can scan an interpolated 2820dpi medium format scan.. what this means is if you print at 300dpi.. you can print up to 7x9.. with no loss in detail.. but if youre not printing then its more than enough for any monitor screen. 16bit per color

Is that a true resolution of the scan?
Because I read on flickr discussions threads before, I remember there's like the true resolution of a scanner, anything upwards, doesn't make a difference also.

But anyways, can you tell me the resolution (eg. 3000x2000) after scanning? 300dpi that is.
Because I tried a couple of scanning places before, the scan results I got back is 3xxx x 2xxx, but the place is abit far off, and your place is nearer to mine, so I may give your services a try.

Thanks.

my apologies.. my explanation of scanner dpi is abit wrong.. for 35mm i can scan a resolution of 2820dpi, so rougly you get a size of 3700X2600 depending on how much you crop the edges. So for printing size, you just divide resolultion by 300dpi and you will get rougly a 12 inch enlargement with no issues. for medium format.. the true resolution is 1128 dpi, but able to extrapolate to 2820.. serves no purpose to improve quality but if you want bigger prints this is an option.. Using true optical resolution, my medium format scans will be roughly 2600x2600. You are able to get approximately a 8 to 9 inch enlargement with this resolution. Using 2820 dpi, you will however be able to obtain a 21inch enlargement.. theoretically. I hope this is accurate haha this is from my own understanding.

decided to send some slides to you for scanning.

what is your number?

if you develop slide, even better.
