It's still pretty far off many people's budget since u still have to buy a decent lens and a decent program flash. That would cost upwards of $2500 on a conservative estimate. Unless u are already using the Canon EOS.
The S2Pro is about slightly less than $3000 now I think. Not sure about the Nikon or the 10D.
U could ask for equotations from www.cathayphoto.com.sg and www.alanphoto.com.sg. Their prices are reliable and are the typical benchmark for people here in Clubsnap. Generally all u need is to print out the email quotation and bring it along with u when u visit their shop. Their quotations do reflect falls in prices over time. So they are geniune. Note that their prices may not include the 4% GST. It wil be 5% GST next year. So u might want to bear this in mind.
Other places u could shop for stuff would MS Colour Centre in Ang Mo Kio Central, The Camera Workshop (mainly 2nd hand) and John 3:16. These are the few I frequent anyway. There may be others altho' the number of pro shops in S'pore are very few........

Availability of the 300D should'nt be a issue here in singapore, lots of sets still available. Remember to get the eQuotation from Cathay Photo and Alan photo as suggested by TME, these 2 shops are patronised by lots of pple here in the forums and generally they give good prices and services.
I suggest you go to Cathay Photo in Peninsular Plaza, than pop over to The Camera Workshop, at Peninsular Shopping Centre (which is just opposite Peninsular Plaza) and than you can drop by John 3:16 at Funan Centre, these shops are just nearby. Have fun! Oh btw there are other shops there too, good for window shopping, but i've not bought things from them before

Actually pro shops there not many left other than those we mention leh........ the other being Ruby..... then Alex (not everyone likes this shop) and then the 2nd hand shop next to Cathay main branch........ that's about the size of things IMO...... about 6-8 really pro shops in Singapore........
