I have received my order of the Telesin selfies stick and it's a mixed bag.
The stick is a well constructed 7 segment carbon fibre pole and will perform well fully extended with some caveat.
1. As expected, with such a long pole, there is some swaying if you walk too fast or if there is a breeze. A stabiliser such as the Zhiyun rider M is recommended. The Gopro 6 internal IBIS should also be effective in eliminating shakes.
2. There are only three lockable positions for this stick : 56cm, 130cm or 270cm but NOTHING ELSE IN BETWEEN. Unlike normal telescopic selfie sticks, each segment can only be locked if they are fully extended. There no locking mechanism except for the natural friction that constricts each segment when it is deployed to its thickest circumference. An included foam stopper/reducer lets user 'jam' the stick at the half way point (130cm). A good descriptor of this mechanism is the design of this collapsible camping cup.
Using it at other heights is not an issue if the stick is used perfectly vertically such as simulating a drone or as a light stand (for small LEDs) but jibbing is not advisable because segments cannot lock unless extended to 130cm or 270cm.
