27" Monitor for Video Editing and Gaming Recommendations

A friend is asking for recommendations for a new monitor for video editing and gaming.

As he is taking a video editing course, he will need a 2k/4k screen with high colour accuracy. He is also a gamer with a 4k GTX1080 Titan graphics card in his desktop. Budget is about $600-800.

He has shortlisted a few
- LG 27UD69
- LG 27UD68
- LG 27UD58
- Dell P2715Q
- Dell U2717D
- Dell U2715H

Thanks Bamboopictures. My friend would love a Eizo or NEC screen but it's way out of his budget.

Any one else has any experience with these monitors and care to share? Right now, he has narrowed down to the LG screens, either the LG 27UD69 or the 27UD88, but based purely on reviews and specs. Any user experience would be much appreciated.
