24-85mm f2.8

If you are budget concious, why not take a look at Tamron 28-75...this is f2.8 lens and will not burn a hole in your pocket? I think you can get quite a good deal in buy and sell corner :thumbsup:

heard this is a good lens..but i oredi bought my f2.8 work horse.

brought the lens since it was launched many years ago, so far, it is my primary lens used in film in most time.
it is a well balanced multi-purpose lens.

pos:
1. made in japan
2. sharp enough
3. 1:2 micro
4. good wide zoom
5. fast enough

neg:
1. not small distortion in wide/long zoom
2. tone is a bit warm, but like it.
3. not really reach 85mm, it is just 70+mm

but now intend to let it go in order to move to fixed lens.

looking for some constructive and negative comment about this piece of nikon lens cos i am getting one.

need to know the strength and weakness.

can any guy point me to any feed back thread? need to hear out what our ppl say about this lens.

I have compared this lens with several primes on D3 and comparing the D3 results with the 17-55/2.8DX on D300.

You need to compare the focal length at infinity focus. Anything closer, the focal length will not be correct.

seem like many people comment good about this lens..its really an expensive zoom lens...but its worth every single penny u spent when u see the micro function and sharp picture.

taken with my new 24-85mm toy in studio. really not failed me. optically really impressive. all the hair, eye, and black dress detail are seen.

it was mounted on my D70, and focus in 50mm range, so in digital is 85mm.

that sound to be a good idea too...really will consider this model.
