20D promotion in HK

There's this 20D promotion in HK which I'm planning to buy:

For HK$9980 (about S$2,050), you get:
a) 20D body
b) 18-55 kit lens
c) 1 x 2GB CF cad
d) 580EX flash
d) 2 years HK/China warranty for body, 1 year international for lens/flash

What do you guys think?

P.S. - there was another better promotion a few weeks ago, i.e. instead of the 2GB CF card, they were giving out the BG-E2 grip!!! Anyway, too late now...

i'm actually using the 420EX now and trying to sell the 580EX away... if i sell it at $600, it prob works out to be about 1,450 for the 20D kit & 2GB CF.

yeah i saw the poster at wing shing... it's quite reasonable if you don't mind the smaller screen on the 20D....

it's still ok lah ;p been using it for long while and quite happy with it. of cos a bigger and higher resolution screen will be more shiok and better for reviewing pics.

but if u are a good photographer, u don't even need to look at the screen to review :sweat:

I think even considering a similar secondhand package in Singapore, you'll be hard pressed to find similar pricing.

OT: kinda makes me wonder why they would offer 580ex with the kit lens... doesn't seem to match the requirement and level. i'd have expected 430ex bundled with kit lens.

i gotta disagree with this... who knows while reviewing you might spot some spots caused by dust in the picture. your sensor might be taking pink pictures and if you don't look?
there's so much convenience to aid the (good) photographer.

yup, i went to all 3 wing shing shops in Mong Kok (including the Man Shing at Fa Yuen St) to ask if the previous promotion (where BG-E2 grip was included instead of 2GB CF) but they all said tha tthe promotion ended...sigh...

BTW, have you bought anything from CMK before? They offered the 30D at HK$7,900....or is there any other shop you know that has a better price? CMK's supposedly an authorised dealer for Canon and they are selling local sets.

i gotta disagree with this... who knows while reviewing you might spot some spots caused by dust in the picture. your sensor might be taking pink pictures and if you don't look?
there's so much convenience to aid the (good) photographer.

Definitely good to have but sometimes there's no chance to reshoot, especially for action/sports. But for studio and probably most landscape, it's going to be very useful.

Not sure about the 16-35, but I know that a 70-700L is definitely going to cost you $70K! (haha...just joking, I think you meant 70-200L?) - anyway, lenses are generally cheaper than Singapore...e.g. 17-40L is about $1,050 here compared to $1,200 back home.
