Beware of AP, I just bought the same lens a few days ago and they never informed me it was a grey set until I paid for it. About $1250 with filter. TCW also has grey stock available for $1200 (no freebies).

I think CP has to be Local Canon lah ...... oh ..... that is b4 GST leh ....

Must get E-quote from them first ..... if u buy directly from them, they quote you $1250 ...

As far as I know CP does not have stocks for 2 weeks liao...perhaps new stocks have arrived this week? Call them up lah. Anyway, I bought it at AP last Saturday.

This is all getting confusing...The one I saw at AP has Canon guarantee.. Nothing of the gray set that I know of.

As for TCW, I called to check and was quoted $1280 brand new. If they really sold for $1200, then it's their loss of business from a customer then.

You know how the game goes, different quotes for different folks. I find stores generally give a better quote when you show up in person. Even the CP people will tell me its an "indicative quote" when I call for prices. The TCW $1200 set is a grey one. Maybe for $1280 is with a warranty.

Yah, that's the sad state of affairs... Cos when I shop, I have several shops in mind, and as a customer, I give all of them more of less equal priority. But my main aim is to get the best deal with no problems in the equipment. If the shops play it like that, they are losing potential customers... I'd prefer you give me the exact price, I do my homework, and if you're good, I'll go to you. but by quoting different prices based on whether u call, show up in person, or have an equote, the credibility is just not there.

Irritating isn't it? You got to wait for equotes and all that. Furthermore, sometimes when you're in the shop, and you wish to get some other things, but you don't have equotes for them. Then how?

No need e-quote one lah! I'd just got this baby from CP last nite for $1200 (with GST n paid by CC). One happy man now :vhappy:

BTW, anyone wants an unused kit lens with card??
