Anybody been to this shop name
Parisilk Electronics & Computers Pte Ltd
which is situated at Holland Village...

i was recommended to this shop by a colleaque who says that the prices there are quite cheap...

i went to check out the prices of the cameras and indeed its about 10-20% lesser then selling in other stores...

who has been to this shop? and also... is this shop reliable??

the rental in holland is super expensive. you sure the items came with warrenty?

I think this shop was featured in "City Spy" on Mediacorp's Channel 8

The host Rayson Tan was brought there by Robin Leong his guest for that episode

I remember them saying that the unique thing about the shop is that everything is 10 to 20% off

erhm ... ask the owner if he was featured on TV before?

it seems to be popular with the expat community.. don't think its the cheapest. but service is good hence the reputation. i still remember hunting the whole of singapore for my digicam. went to quite a number of shops. in the end i bought the stuff from lucky plaza - a place notorious for ripping off tourists. if u're a local and you know your stuff then you can get your stuff here. i suppose the lowest prices are at shops in simlim, peninsula and lucky plaza. everywhere else e.g. shopping centres, is a couple hundred more if u're talking cameras. if u wanna pay in installments then head for harvey normans.

The price at parissilk is slightly more ex than those in AP. My fren bot the F601 at almost 1k over there when AP was selling for 70-80 bucks less.

hmmm...other way round for me...
parisilk's prices was much lower...

i know it really depends...
price does matters...so does whether the shop is reliable...

i read thru some of the posts here...and read that AP's has quite a number of AP(Attitude Problem) case.

so...
heh

yah, AP's been known to haf some of these problems. Lolz. Didnt know AP stood for Attitude Problem! Haha. I suppose the staff at parissilk is more courteous....

Other camera shops like Cathay Photo are also located in prime city area...

AP is good for old or seasoned customers. If u go there looking fresh and blurry, be warned. The staff can appear uninterested and rude. I was so embarrasse dwhen I recommended AP to a visitor to my company. The next day, she came back and told me she'l never step into that shop again. The salesman was just so rude. I'm quite surprised at first but later realized I must have been in Singapore for so many years that I have become accustomed to such (lack of) service quality. It's just the way these sales people do their business. Lots of such pple in all over singapore, including Sim Lim square of course. They are more interested in your 4$$ than helping you find the best product you really need.

I'd prefer to take my money so where else then. Even is it means spending a bit more for better service.

Your photo in your avatar doesn't look like 37 years old. Unless you mean 37 weeks old, hehehe... :D :D :D

Just kidding only (no offence), ;)

BTW, your avatar look very cute!

Ha ha, I thought so. BTW, I will join your rank end of this year. Probably will get some pointers from you on taking baby photo. ;)

I have experience with Paris Silk, CP, Fotoguide n AP. Often Fotoguide has best price. But they do not have full range. Don't like AP. They don't give the best price. Paris Silk do try to give the price that is better than department stores. So their price is 10 to 20 % less compared to department store prices. And it varies for different products. CP is fair, not cheapest. Their main advantage is fuller range of photo equipment and accessories. Like in any stores you will get the "favored customer" price when u r a regular. Important rule is to ask around before buying.
