1.4x / 2x TC - Canon Mount

Hi .. tot of getting a 1.4x or 2x TC .. but other than Canon (too ex) what other third part TC is available? what is the cost like? thanks

i've used kenko 1.4x tc b4 i switched to canon's... cheap and good at $220 +/- from ms color i think...

i regret selling it for the canon's coz to my eyes, opticlally no difference between kenko and canon's 1.4x... advantage of canon 1.4x is only the weatherseal(which i dun need) and build(heavier).... in addition, it can't af at f8 with a slow lens on a non 1 series body... need to tape pins... on a kenko, iirc, u can af at f8... it's lighter and cheaper....

This depends on the lens.

To answer the original question, popular 3rd party brands are Sigma and Kenko, the sigma's price is around 70% of what you pay for the Canon original. Kenko's price is around 50%. Kenko may be used with all lenses, the Sigma, like the Canon, may only be used with lenses that have a recessed rear element.
