Yes I encountered this issue before. So I tried taking out my battery if I fit my camera in the bag for Long time. But I have lost my soft button twice now. Not going to get more..problem solved. :)

bought the RX1 third party lens hood and extra batteries from a HK vendor on eBay. The lens hood fits very well and really that is enough for whatever purpose anyone would buy the lens hood for. I have not yet tested the battery performance. Will give an update once I have that.

That's not digital zoom I suppose?

Actually no. The digital zoom works just as if you are cropping the picture. So no IQ loss for that. Of course the dimension will be smaller, 2600*1700 something, compared to 6000*4000, which is the full size when it's not zoomed in.
