My $0.02 cents worth.
I bought a Sandisk Class 4 8GB (blue color). Was generally ok except it has what TS mentioned, slow preview. Worse is when I do sports shoot. 7 FPS but preview takes ages.
Switched to a Sandisk Extreme 8GB Class 10. Although Class 10 means a minimum of 10 MB/s, this card...
No radio trigger available that can do wireless P-TTL yet. Been searching like mad but apparently a combination of very complicated TTL signals and no big market for 3rd-party manufacturers to R&D and make a compatible radio trigger.
Closest is Radio Poppers. Some tried and said they seem to...
Naw. Looking towards Phottix Strato. Even though labeled "For Canon" but works with Pentax hotshoe for basic triggering.
I'm getting them since a friend of mine already has them and we can share equipments. He already has a set of Strato triggers. Getting them means we can setup more flashes and...
Forgot to mention that I do not want TTL to be used. Just want the popup flash to trigger the external flash but not contribute illumination to the image itself.
I can buy that.
So what settings should I use on both the camera and external flash?
The scenario I want is:
Subject to be illuminated by external flash while pop-up flash only triggers but does not contribute to the illumination of the subject.
Hi, all.
Need some advice from experts here.
Started playing around with strobing recently. I was testing out this setup:
Pentax K-5 using pop-up flash as trigger in controller mode (not master mode as I do not want the popup flash to contribute to the image) .
YongNuo 460-II in slave S1...
That's an even stupider justification from that someone.
Spending more money on a product with lesser feature or, worse still, is generally inferior to one that costs less just because of the brand is just.... dumb.
Ditto here.
Making this statement kinda throws some of C&N people off-track when they start their ramble.
A funny story:
There is this colleague of mine. 5D Mk II owner, who loves to poke at me on my choice of camera after my Canon 10D.
I had bought a red K-x first and it got called a toy...
Just as an update. Saw more K-r models and colors being sold at Challenger IMM. And they got displayed at the doorway showcase with C&N cameras. Plus they're carrying the K-5 body-only as well. But the price is OMG at $1999 body only.
Lens will be in soon after.
Had a casual chat with the sales...
Nice pics bro!
You're really making me tempted to get another sportsbike again after so many years away from one.
May I know if you use panning on some of the shots?
I can see the motion blur on the surrounding but the subject is very sharp?
Tamron 70-200 user here as well on a K-5.
Have not used the Sigma edition so cannot compare. But personally I felt its no slower than the DAL 50-200mm. In fact it does not hunt as much thus has a slight faster AF feel.
After a while, you get used to it and compensates for the lack of motor by...
