K20D is available for sale in HK

Seems like most hands-on K20D samples I've seen have been rather underexposed (especially the test shots taken in the desert in Dubai). Hopefully this is not due to some new metering algorithm that deliberately underexpose to save highlights?

Voigtlander Nokton 58mm F1.4 SL II (1st trial)

Have not seen the Pentax version on the web, is the aperture ring like the CV 125/2.5, with an "A" position for camera aperture control?

What new Olympus do I need?

I don't like the colour and excessive in-camera processing from Canon CMOS DSLRs myself, but I only mentioned as an example. Well, I would like to comment more on this but I just received a WARNING from one of the mods here for even mentioning FACTS (not starting another debate) about FF v...

What new Olympus do I need?

The Olympus 300/2.8 becomes a 600/4.0 but provide a 1 stop shutter speed advantage. Canon DSLRs (especially the FF 5D) can easily bump up the ISO to match the speed (or even a few stops faster ;) ) and still produce images with excellent low noise levels.

    EC-20

Yes you are right. Was still thinking f2.0. Should be f2.8 > 5.6
  9. V

    EC-20

    Means a 50 f2.0 becomes a 100 f4.0 and a 50-200 f2.8-3.5 becomes 100-400 f4.0-6.7

Even with modern in-lens IS/VR lenses it is still better to turn off IS when there is plenty of light for fast shutter speeds. You're already getting sharp images so why add another unknown variable?

I think in-camera IS is more effective at shorter FLs. I don't have any long lenses for Pentax to test but my Olympus E-3's in-camera IS struggles and produce more ghosted images at long FLs eg. 800mm (135 equiv, using 50-200mm + 2.0 TC). I actually get sharper images when I turn off IS using...
