    Yup, I charged it before I put it in. So basically I just need to copy the .bin file to the memory card, insert the fully charged battery again and the firmware installation screen will automatically appear?

    I took a look at the firmware installation instructions (http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/LX3/index2.html) and it seems I need a AC adaptor. (DMW-AC5, separately sold optional parts). How do I do it without one?
