does prefocusing here mean turning the ring on the cam to the distance printed on it? as long as it more than the min focus distance? :)

hey, i'm using a D80 also and recently bought a 2nd hand Tamron 17-50 and have no problems using it so far. :) One of the sharpest lens I've played with so far!
