They are already incurring cost for the shutter replacement, sensor cleaning, etc ... In the long run, it might just be cheaper to let these unhappy users to upgrade to the D610 and do some cost recovery with the nominal "upgrade" fee.

Actually why don't Nikon give a limited time offer to allow D600 users to upgrade to a new D610 for a nominal fee ? Shd be a win~win situation for all ...

Just for D600, please go with official Nikon warranty. The shutter replacement should worth more than the $200 savings ...

Looks like the price for D600 has more or less stabilized at this price ...

TS mentioned that it's D7000. I think the duration is only an estimate. The last time when I sent in my D600 for the shutter replacement, they told me will take 2~4 weeks as they need to order the parts. But I got it on the 8th day.
