The OEM chipped batteries are out on ebay already.... they work on my GF1 and G1 on latest firmware... go search :) You can prv msg me if you can't find or you are not sure :)

I have a GF1 as well as a G1, They have the same charger, Believe yours is an isolated hardware problem with the charger, you should bring it back to panasonic, or to the shop you purchased it from if it's still within 7 days
