nope, but than again i've only had my mbp for a week+ .. since im planning to get apple care within 1 year, im not worried about the discolouration. apple has a fantastic return policy. im pretty sure they've fixed the discolouration issues already.

the macbook comes with a removable harddisc bay so you can change the HDD yourself. buy OEM ram.. i think 1 gig is about 100usd. the macbook should be good enough for you. i'm pretty sure you dont need a GUI for cs2 .. only ram... or rather that is what i read in the macforums...
